Uber has just hit 10 billion rides since 2010 when the app was first launched. The number includes Uber Eat deliveries.
The road to 10 billion rides hasn’t been easy for the San Francisco-based company. The taxi-hailing company faced several scandals, one of which led to the #DeleteUber movement. The company also faced sexual harassment, gender inequities, and poor working conditions allegations.
However, these scandals did not stop Uber from growing strong. The company is also facing strong competiton from several locally-based taxi apps as uberfication takes root.
Uber, now valued at $72b, dominates the global taxi apps and has presence in more than 100 countries.
