A Kenya couple becomes the first couple to present news together for the first time in the history of Kenyan television.
Lulu Hassan, one of Kenya’s leading Swahili news presenters, started presenting Citizen Tv Swahili news bulleting alongside her husband Rashid Abdalla, who joined the station recently.
The pairing has been touted as the first ever married couple to present the news on Kenyan television.
“Welcome Rashid Abdalla, please feel at home,” Hassan said, as her husband took his seat alongside her.
Kenyans on social media discussed the pair even before their debut, yet neither mentioned their relationship on air. However, many online users have noted that Ms Hassan briefly tapped her husband on the hand as they signed out.

Abdalla joined Citizen from rival NTV to replace Kanze Dena who left Citizen TV after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed her as State House Deputy Spokesperson.
