A prominent Somali clan elder has been shot and killed at his home in the capital, Mogadishu, reports say.
Hussein Gedi Jima’ale was killed after unknown gunmen attacked his residence in the city’s Hodan neighbourhood.
The killers escaped the scene shortly after the raid.
No-one has said they were responsible for the murder and authorities are expected to begin investigations.
The Somali capital has witnessed at least a dozen assassinations since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan on 17 May.
