At least 16 people have been killed after gunmen attacked the headquarters of the Libyan elections body in the capital, Tripoli.
The attack was carried out by assailants including suicide bombers and took place as citizens registered for elections slated for later this year.
A spokesperson for the Libyan electoral commission, Khaled Omar, said three election officials were among those killed in the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Several armed groups are currently in control of various pockets of the country and are competing for power in the troubled North African nation.
