After banning hate speech and fake news, Facebook is now removing posts that financially trick people

Facebook is now deleting posts that are financially tricking people. Two weeks ago, Facebook announced it’s banning posts that are inciting, hateful and fake news.

“We do not, for example, allow content that could physically or financially endanger people, that intimidates people through hateful language, or that aims to profit by tricking people using Facebook,” the company’s vice president of policy, Richard Allen, said.

Similarly, the position against trickery for profit gives Facebook a wide berth to fight against spammers, scammers and shady businesses making false claims about products.

Those who will be hit hard by this new policy include individuals or rogue companies who trick people in order for their businesses to earn a profit.
